Narrated
Wahb bin Kaisan Abi Nu'aim

A meal was brought to Allah's Messenger while his step-son, 'Umar bin Abi Salama was with him. Allah's Messenger said to him, "Mention the Name of Allah and eat of the dish what is nearer to you."

002:172 O you who have believed. Eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah, if it is (indeed) Him that you worship.

(Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time - when you give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness nor secret intrigues. If any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work. And in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).

002:219 They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and (yet, some) benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess (beyond needs)." Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses (of revelation) that you might give thought.
